Amos came home beaming tonight after spending the day with the President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A great way to spend your last day being 40 years old right?
There was a special meeting today for bishops and stake presidents from 12 stakes. Amos said he felt like the 4 hours flew by. President Nelson didn’t have any notes but just spoke from his heart for what was seemingly 5 minutes, but was actually an hour. Amos took pages of notes.
President Nelson was speaking today with an area authority named Elder Tilleman who will preside at our special stake conference tomorrow. Elder Tilleman asked to meet just with our family in the morning before the conference. I’m excited about that since I didn’t get to be with Amos today. Not even his couselors could be with him today.
Amos has a few neat Christmas insights that President Nelson shared today that he would like to share with all of you. We are going to give him the opportunity on Evie’s live Facebook concert tomorrow night on the LDS Sister Missionaries Facebook page. To catch that live, go to Facebook Sunday night at 6pm and type LDS Sister Missionaries in the search box. (You can also wish him a happy birthday on a live event.) Let’s see how many people we can get at that virtual Christmas special musical event/birthday party for Amos and Jesus. You are all invited.
After all the instruction and question/answer segments of Amos’s meeting with President Nelson today, he and the two men he spoke with all bore their testimonies then Elder Nelson said he had a prompting to bless all of them. He specifically mentioned that any of them who were physically ill would be healed. Amos cried and knew that this man – a surgeon by practice – was not speaking to him as a doctor of medicine but as a messenger and special witness of Jesus Christ who has all power to heal us in every way. Amos couldn’t even talk about this without crying. What a special day.
