Meet my nephew’s adorable red head, Ruby. She is one of Evie Clair’s biggest fans. I have been in Mesa today with the girls while Porter has been home taking care of his dad who is still struggling with this new type of chemo. It just seems to suck the life out of him.
We went to a baby shower for my niece, Jandi and a music practice with Evely’s awesome guitar teacher Rick Dalton. They are rehearsing for the movie-night fundraiser one week from today. Don’t forget to get your tickets.
Evie will be singing a Jason Mraz cover at the fundraiser which is one of the same songs the producers of America’s Got Talent have chosen for her to possibly sing on the show.
She is also finished rewriting her “For You” song with help from not only one of the AGT producers but also her cousin McKenna and her aunt Phoebe. When the producer told her to rework some of the lyrics, Evie found the best lyricists she knows to help. Thankfully they are relatives.
My sister Missie’s plane arrived this afternoon and I’m excited to spend the week with her.
Ruby’s mom told us tonight that she loves Evie’s Eye of the Tiger video so much. Her mom lets her listen to it all the time and the other day she noticed her kids acting out the “..and now my dad is fighting a new battle…” talking part at the beginning when Evie goes into that high-pitched, crying voice. We all had a good laugh.
Lastly, a quick shout out to my little brother Charlie. Happy Birthday! It’s so crazy in life that we have to move away from the people we grew up with and then hardly ever see them. I love my brother. I need to live closer to my siblings some day. It was great to see so many of them tonight.
