Today we went to my sister’s house to celebrate her daughter Brooklyn’s birthday. We we went to see Moana with them and I absolutely loved it. My girls already know and love all the songs. With the releases of Trolls and Sing, we have tons of fun music to listen to these days.
They are all looking forward to Beauty and the Beast. One more week of vacation for my kids is going to be so fun.
Evelyn is going through every song imaginable to find a perfect song for AGT. They want something very well known but not overdone. Something unexpected for her that is a little older so that people would recognize it and she would make them fall in love with it again. If any of you have a song suggestion that fits that description, let us know.
Tonight was Family Home Evening and Kirra gave an excellent lesson on S.M.A.R.T goals. She taught us that goals need to be Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Timely. Amos gave the example of asking the prisoners today if they had resolutions or goals for the new year. One said he wanted to be a better person. While it sounds good and we should all want to be better, it doesn’t meet the requirements to be a S.M.A.R.T. Goal because it isn’t specific or measurable.
After setting some pretty great individual, spiritual goals we had some pretty awesome game time. We played add on with the yoga trapeze and even Amos got in on the competition.
This yoga trapeze has been a big hit with our kids. It’s probaly the most used Christmas gift we’ve ever gotten. Our kids make up moves and give them creative names like space man, cloud 9, sky diver, rising sun, flamingo and bizzaro. Amos made up a very simple one tonight called cruise ship. He joked that if he wasn’t careful he’d be showing us the ostomy next. The kids thought that was pretty funny.
