A few details about Amos’s procedure yesterday… but first, didn’t anyone else think his doctor looked and sounded like a certain former US president? During the procedure, Amos had to be paralyzed for about 15 seconds at a time. They had to put him on the breathing machine then force him to stop breathing to get the still images they needed. They also redirected blood vessels to his liver and away from his stomach. They were able to accomplish all the things they wanted to do and there will most likely be some complications with his gall bladder but it looks promising that this will work to remove the liver tumors. His next Y90 procedure is scheduled for May 23rd then a few weeks later he will have another one with a goal to remove the tumor in the other side of his liver. Both dad and Evie are recovering well today.
Amos had a visit from Scott, a friend from out of town who used to teach and coach with him at Gilbert High. I’m so glad they are still great friends.
Amos thinks he is taking me out for a Mother’s Day date tonight, but I’d rather stay home and let him continue to rest and recover. We’ll see who wins this one.
I don’t need anything for Mother’s Day… I have this gift from last year to last me a lifetime. I had to listen to the video again since she can’t play the piano right now.
Wishing all the mothers in my life a special day tomorrow and thinking of my angel mother who truly put the music of the gospel in me and whose legacy has blessed my children.
