The Abplanalps have officially arrived and it has been a big party with great food and my kids love having cousins around. I forgot how much I enjoy being entertained by our sister-in-law Paije. She is a great story teller.
She also gave a beautiful family prayer tonight to add her faith to ours in Amos’s healing. She and Abbe and Bree were excellent medical assistants today and Bailee made everything fun. Abbe shows so much heartfelt love and concern for her brother.
Tom, Dean and Tanner stayed busy with projects like fixing the dryer and replacing Porter’s car battery. It was a fantastic whirlwind with everyone finding ways to serve while enjoying family time too.
Amos had some temple recommended interviews to do today that he held in his bedroom that has now been converted to a hospital room. He told them they didn’t need to dress up since he wasn’t. They did anyway. I love the faithful members of our ward and I love that Amos is still able to serve as bishop.
His counselors are taking on so much of his duties right now. Someone pointed out to me that the same thing is happening with our prophet. President Monson is very limited in the ways he can serve but will continue to carry the leadership mantle as long as the Lord allows.
Today was a better day for Amos than yesterday. The amount of fluid we are draining from his stomach is decreasing every day making things a little easier and indicating better nutrition. Although he still feels a lot of pain, he is grateful things are moving in the right direction.
He and I agree that his doctor’s decision to put him on the TPN saved his life last week. We now have a refrigerator in our bedroom to hold all the bags of liquid nutrients that we pump into a port in his chest for 18 hours a day. It’s kind of a strange way to live but you do what you have to.
Evie did an Instagram Live Stream tonight and was really excited because it hit some kind of Top Live status for being one of the most popular live streams happening at that moment.
We are so excited for Evie Clair and all the ways she is able to have such a sphere of influence through her God-given talents to share her beautiful light.
