Sorry the blog is so late tonight. We have a tinge of regret for a day of gluttony. We are not, however, regretting our time with our amazing friends, the Weavers, who took us to The Melting Pot. This restaurant is amazing. You literally get to eat four courses of fondue for three hours and cook your own food. Then to top it off, Amos asked if I wanted ice cream on the way home! I only agreed because he gets a three day window twice a month where ice cream is possible. Cold things and his chemo don’t mix.
Amos worked with both Scott and Heidi at Gilbert High for many years and we love these two amazing teachers. They are moving away next week and we will miss them so much. Our gluttony wouldn’t have been so extreme if we hadn’t been eating junk and lazily watching movies since 7:00 this morning. I will say, he needed the break.
You may have seen our daughter’s first live Facebook event this morning. She did a bunch of great covers and got a good-sized audience for her first run. Amos was watching online from upstairs this morning, requesting songs and commenting. Today her battery on her phone died halfway through the event so we had to stop and reconnect. It went pretty well and hopefully they will get better as she gets used to them. I think I have some ideas to help before the next live show. Next time we’ll let you know on the blog when she will be doing her next live feed.
Brother Kennedy, from our ward, brought over a memory quilt his wife and many other women in the ward made for Amos. It was filled with memories and signed on the back with sweet messages from members of our ward. They gave us markers to have family sign the front. It has pictures of Amos with each of his children, our wedding picture, a Gilbert High School coat of arms, the Mesa Temple and his favorite hymn. It is so special to us and we will treasure it always. Memories become more valuable as life becomes more fragile. Thank you for loving and sustaining bishop. He needs that so much and he appreciates you more than you know.
