Kirra is home! That was the one thought that cheered Amos up today – knowing Kirra would be home soon. He kept emailing me from work asking if she was there yet. He loves her so much. Thank you Bailey and Missie for having her and Amy and Phoebe for getting her safely home. The girls decorated her room to surprise her and she came with gifts for all of her siblings. I love that they love and miss each other.
Amos was down today. He said he feels useless at work since he is only able to see about a third of the clients. He told me he felt bad about the need to come home early again. He wants to be a productive and valuable employee as he has always been. I wish he knew how his endurance has inspired so many others. He so rarely gets this way but I can’t imagine how difficult his life is right now. He usually overcomes negative feelings quickly. This time, he may need some good news from the doctor on Monday. He said he isn’t sure how long he can go on this way.
After work he came with us to town hall where Evelyn was presented with the Key to the Town of Florence by the Mayor and the town council. They mentioned that this was the first key to the town ever bestowed on anyone in Florence, AZ for any reason! It was a really neat occasion and we felt so much love from everyone involved.
Evie also sang the national anthem at the Florence School District Convocation this morning. That was a huge well-organized event and she sang so beautifully. She also did a skit where she and several other students were impersonating school board members. It was hilarious.
We found out Evie’s next America’s Got Talent episode will be next Tuesday, July 25th! The producers of the show are so good to us. We feel so much love from them and feel they truly care about us. They are so good at understanding our difficulties and making special arrangements for Amos in every circumstance. On these judge cut rounds, only 1/3 of the acts will go through to the live shows. The competition is so tough this year so it’s so exciting to see what acts will move on. Watch tomorrow then next Tuesday to see if Evie makes it.
After the events of the day, we read scriptures and had a prayer with Amos then sent him to bed while the Morris family stayed for Family Home Evening. We played Balderdash and Porter won as usual. It was tons of fun to play with the Morris crew because they are so funny and witty.
