I am writing this blog from the Emergency Room tonight. Amos’s pain was out of control today and nothing he was taking helped.
They just put Dilantin directly into his port and said is stronger than Morphine. It instantly took all his pain away but he says he hates it because he feels like it took his soul with it.
Brother Elwood and Brother Cook came over to give him a blessing before I took him to the ER.
They came just after we got his mom back to the airport. He knew she wouldn’t get on the plane if she knew what was happening.
She bore a beautiful testimony in Relief Society today and talked about Amos when he was a little boy and how he got up to bare his testimony every Fast Sunday talking about how much he wanted to go on a mission. We all agreed that he is still on that mission.
They just took him back for a CT scan. He thinks something is wrong with his ostomy because aside from the back and abdominal pain, the area around his ostomy is painful to the touch.
I’m so thankful that he was able to make it through our amazing travels before reaching this breaking point.
This past week has been incredible. I’ve never experienced such extreme physical rest, abundance of good food and entertainment with so little worry or responsibility. I have so much gratitude for everyone who made those memories possible. <3
Here is a little high speed video highlight reel for you all.
I’ll share more cruise memories and pictures tomorrow.
