While we went to the temple last night, our kids had the chance to visit friends from Mesa.  We moved from Mesa a year ago and we all miss our friends.  It was good to catch up with a few of them last night.  Porter went to the Bake’s, Evie went to the Howell’s, Kirra went to the Martin’s and Ruth and Blakely went to the Broberg’s.  After we picked them up, Amos was still feeling good so we went to our favorite clean comedy club, Jesterz at Mesa Riverview.  It was fun to laugh for a while.

As we were out, we got a final recording emailed to me from our recording engineer at Vistalight Productions.  It was a song we had recorded for Amos’s cousin Jake.  It was a surprise for him from his wife.  They just got their letter that will allow them to be sealed in the temple.  His wife Amanda sent us some lyrics and a melody for the chorus.  Evie Clair did her magic on it then Stephen Moyer did his magic on it.  The result was so beautiful that I couldn’t stop listening to it.  The talents of these three combined with such an authentic message of unconditional love blew me away.

I put the music to some pictures Amanda had sent me and uploaded it to YouTube.  When the video was done, Blakely had a chance to see it.  She watch half of the video then said, “Wait, that isn’t dad! That’s dad’s twin brother!” I’m not sure how she came to that conclusion.  All my kids think Jake looks just like Amos.  Amos doesn’t see it.  I think they definitely both have a resemblance to Grandpa Sagers in pictures I have seen of him before his war-time plane crash and subsequent facial reconstruction.

The lyrics of this song were so touching and seemed to describe perfectly the way Amos has loved and treated me so well all these years.  Maybe these boys got more than a handsome face from their grandpa.  I have a page set up where you can all have a free download of Jake’s Song here.  Thank you to Amanda for allowing us to distribute it.  When we have gifts that can touch the lives of others, we believe sharing them is important.
